First Weekend of Filming

The first weekend of filming has wrapped! It went great, and we’ve captured a myriad of beautiful images and emotions, which i can’t wait to cut together. Originally we intended to shoot the entire film in three days. But unfortunately, because of scheduling and unforeseeable obstacles, we have to pick up a few shots at a later date. But don’t be discouraged! this kind of thing happens all the time on big-budget sets, and it won’t be a problem for us. If anything, this allows us to make the film we want to make without the compromises that time and life try to force upon us.

Keep checking the blog as set photos will be posted soon, eventually followed by the trailer.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, prayed for us, and fought for us. And especially to those who had the first-hand experience on set. This project would not have been possible without each and every one of you!

Okay, our locations are locked. Here are some photos of where we’ll actually be shooting.

Here’s some references for our locations… hopefully you will actually see some of these in the film!

Artist’s Statement

This piece is directly inspired by the book The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis. In the book, Lewis uses a correspondence between two demons to show us how our souls are constantly attacked by darkness in ways we never really realized.

In the same way, I use demons to reveal our souls’ struggle to survive, breathe, and flourish in the world that we live in.

However, even though the film deals deeply with the supernatural, it is not meant to be a strictly religious message. Through the medium of film, we have a unique opportunity to communicate to people on a profoundly personal level, through anything from the mundane to the fantastic. Even though the framework of my film may seem absurd or surrealist, the relevance of issues such as human fear, hatred, and self-doubt cannot be denied. I hope that the film’s message of struggling to live a full and free life speaks to all of you as deeply as it speaks to me.

Here are some photos from the lookbook which describe the tone and mood of the film. Enjoy!

Project is a go!

After months of preproduction and preliminary work, “Beasts of the Earth” is on it’s way to becoming realized. But we still have a long way to go. This blog will follow the progress of the film as it comes closer to fruition. If you would like to help or be involved in any way, please feel free to email me anytime. Let’s make a movie!
